OSX: 10.9.4
VirtualBox: 4.3.14 r95030 (Latest plugins and extensions)
Arch Linux: Just did a full system upgrade including vbox-guest-additions
X/WM: I am using regular X and i3 window manager in Arch

I am trying to use cmd as the primary modifier key in the i3 window manager within an Arch Linux guest running on my Macbook. Everything is working great, including shared clipboard and other guest additions functionality. However, even when full screen with the keyboard captured by the guest cmd+h and cmd+q still go though to the OSX host and either hide the VM or shows a prompt to quit. A

Also, despite not having show menu bar checked it still shows up in full screen mode when I move the mouse to the top of the screen.

I am assuming this is just a case of Apple pushing undocumented api breaking changes so I wanted to make sure it was known. Anything I can do to help? Basically, I am trying to get my linux guest to run in complete isolation from the OSX host sans the the shared clipboard.

Both behaviors you describe have been true in VirtualBox for many versions. Whether it's something the developers don't feel a need to change, or they just haven't gotten around to them I can't say.
