8.1 guest desktop not hidden in seamless mode on 8.1 host

When I enter seamless mode, the guest machine's desktop background is still drawn. Thus if I focus any window on the guest machine, the guest's desktop will obstruct all windows on the host machine.

VirtualBox version 4.3.14 r95030, with the same version of Guest Additions installed
Host: Windows 8.1 Pro x64 (16GB RAM)
Guest: Windows 8.1 Pro x64 (5GB RAM)
3D Acceleration is enabled on the guest
VBox.log is attached

You do not have the same problem. The original poster was on a Windows host. You have a Mac host. You should have created your own thread under Mac OSX Hosts. Did you install the guest additions in your W 8.1 guest?

Sorry, it seems like the same problem but I guess you are right it might be different due to the host. Anyway, yes I have the guest additions installed. Weird thing is, if I change the guest ( win 8.1 ) background to anything different while running the guest, suddenly seamless mode starts working. It works until I shut down the guest and re-start it. Then I have to yet again change the background to get it to start working again.

I will re-post this under Mac OS X hosts.
