Hi! I have a PC with Lubuntu as it's host OS. I installed VirtualBox on this machine and imported some virtual machines onto this PC that I need to automatically start up when the PC boots up. I then need to set one of these VMs to seamless mode. I'm having difficulties doing this however. I'm using the following commands to do this:
The result is the VM starts up and it's in seamless mode but all I can see is the toolbar associated with this mode hidden at the bottom of the screen. Otherwise I just see my host background. I'm switching over to Ubuntu to see if I get this same issue. I tried on a windows 7 host and the same thing happened.

Edit: This is also happening in Ubuntu, newest version of Desktop. I have to be doing something wrong here.....

Any suggestions?

Moved to "Linux Guests" since your Linux Host seems to have no bearing on your question.

Seamless mode is a feature provided by the Guest Additions. You don't mention installing the GAs? See chapter 4 of the user manual if you haven't done this.

A VM log file would have been useful. See Minimum information needed for assistance.

Reading over your post again... are you confusing seamless mode with something else? A transparent guest desktop is precisely what seamless mode provides. The idea is that guest apps appear to be running on the host desktop.
