Can I increase the disk size?

I have searched on "disk size" to try and find a thread about increasing the size of the disk in VM but am not finding one that helps me or I just am not understanding. Can I increase the size of the disk of an existing VM or machine or am I "out of luck" and have to start over creating a new machine and building the Win7/Office 2013 machine as I need it?

Thanks,

I am entering the command as shown in the screen shot of the cmd window and getting the error(s?) that I do. The first seems to be in the name of the file. I am including a screen shot of the windows explorer window showing the path and file name. What am I doing wrong?

Now I know how to "paste" screen shots

Thanks,

'*' can't be part of a path name. That part of the path is "VirtualBox VMs".

And the name is "Test Win7.vdi " not just Test.vdi

Okay, I entered the path with all spaces in each folder/file name as it is in the Explorer window and I got back

Syntax error: Invalid parameter 'VMs\Win7Admin\Test'

That is why I was trying to use the wild card *

Any time there are spaces in the command line you need to wrap it in quotes " "

Wrap just the places that have a space, folder or file name or wrap the entire line? Also in the Test Win7.vdi would the trailing quote be before the dot or after the vdi? Gee, can you tell I am not a programmer???

Thanks for all the help everyone :)

Edit:

I think I got it! I just ran it with the entire path enclosed in quotes and got a return line of 10% 20% ... 100%. Now I will see if the file is bigger! WooT!!

That was step one. Now you need to extend the primary partition to use the new size. Disk management in Windows 7 can achieve this for you.

My last post seems to have evaporated. I said I was doing the happy dance! I did you disk management and extended the disk into the new empty space so I now have a disk with space again :) .

Thanks to all for your help!!!
