Guest OS: Windows 2012 SE freezes after logon

Hello,

I'm using the current realease of Oracle VirtualBox Software: 4.3.14.
Oracle VM VirtualBox
Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack

Guest OS : Windows 2012 Server Standard Edition (W2k12 SE) fresh installation

Issue

A few seconds after logging on to the guest OS the VM just freezes (hangs) without an error message.
This issue occurs constantly after I have installed the virtualbox guest additions.

Additional information
=====================
This W2k12 SE guest VM runs fine if I start it in Safe Mode with networking

Attached the appropriate VBox.log

Would appreciate any help.

I found a couple of maybe interesting titbit in your logs (which may very well be totally irrelevant):

00:00:06.301950 Audio: Trying driver 'dsound'.

See if you change the sound options and/or disable 3D acceleration in the VM settings changes things. Just a shot in the dark...

The 3D option was (is) not active.
Disabled the sound device within the VM configuration, but the system still freezes...
