Deleted .vhd file but Disk Space remains occupied

I Need help guys.
I Have a MacBook Pro with 256 SSD and I Set up a WIN 7 x86 VM. Then I imported my .vhd file And added it to the VM. The VM did Not Run because the .vhd file was Not valid. So I used Finder And threw the .vhd file in the trash to delete it. After I emptied the trash can And rebooted the MacBook the diskspace is still occupied. I'm missing more than 120GB. Is there a shadow copy of the .vhd somewhere or is the Disk Space unallocated? Help please?????
