Mouse cursor not available in VM window
Running Windows 7 Professional - and CentOS7.0 guest OS (although this was described as Ubuntu). - When running this VM I can get the Linux host access to the keyboard by clicking on the Title Bar - and I can enter and run Linux commands successfully. But I want to have a cursor in the VM window. The documentation says that to get the cursor I should click in the Window - I do this, but no cursor has been available. The cursor is available on the host though. This is not working as the documentation describes (although there is a lot of documentation - obviously I missed something because this doesn't work. How can I get this to work?

Re: Mouse cursor not available in VM window
- CentOS is based on Fedora, not Ubuntu. See if changing it in the VM settins fixes it.
- See if disabling the 3D acceleration (in the VM settings) fixes it.
- Have you installed the Guest Additions?

Re: Mouse cursor not available in VM window
CentOS is pretty identical to RHEL (Redhat Enterprise Linux), so the best setting would be RHEL 7
(...as soon as the next version of VIrtualbox supports it completely

Re: Mouse cursor not available in VM window
Martin,
I have been trying to obtain a viable Linux VM using a CentOS 7 download ( CentOS-7.0-1406-x86_64-Everything ). I tried your advice regarding Linux type specification when creating the virtual machine (i.e. select a Redhat Linux type because CentOS is RedHat) - but there is no Redhat V7 in the drop down list. So I selected Redhat V6 64-bit - The cursor situation still the same - I can't seem to get a cursor in the VM window (using CTRL-G) and have to CTRL-Alt to get the Host cursor. Would you think it would be productive to find a CentOS V6 download and to try creating this Linux VM from scratch?

Re: Mouse cursor not available in VM window
I installed and ran CentOS 7.0 as a guest using VirtualBox 4.3.14 without any problem. I did install the guest additions which I'm not sure you have based on your symptoms. Plus, there is no Redhat with a version number to choose from, or any other Linux choice that I can find. There is just 32bit or 64bit.

Re: Mouse cursor not available in VM window
Hey, man. I am having the same problem. MAC OS X 10.10.2 host, Virtual Box 4.3.24 build r98716. I installed Centos7.0 CentOS_BuildTag

I can't see a mouse pointer. I think the mouse works, it's just I can't see it. Unusable situation.
Please help.
