XP with AutoCAD2004 problem on old laptop

Post by godfryd »

Hello,

I got an old laptop (Maxdata ECO 4010 IW) on which is Debian with LXDE alongside with Windows XP. I need Windows for working on AutoCAD. On such machine from Microsoft only XP with AutoCAD 2004 is somehow workable :) I wanted to migrate fully to linux and created VM with XP and AutoCAD. On newer machines with hardware virtualization everything is OK but on my laptop AutoCAD doesn't start. I've tried many different configurations and found that problem is in missing hardware virtualization (System=>Acceleration tab is inactive). Is there any smart solution to overcome this limitation?

Best regards
Aleksander

Your CPU doesn't support hardware virtualization so if AutoCad won't run without it there is nothing you can do short of buying a new PC.
OSX, Linux and Windows Hosts & Guests
There are three groups of people. Those that can count and those that can't.
