Virtualbox Stops Logout

Running instances of virtualbox bring OSX logouts to a halt, either user initiated logouts or automatic logouts set to occur after so much inactivity
Is there anyway to prevent this? Essentially, I need for a logout signal from the mac to initiate virtual box shutdown without the prompts from virtual box to save, suspend, restart, etc. I've set virtualbox up to ONLY show the option to shutdown the virtual machine, but it still brings OSX logouts to a halt until you respond to the prompt. Any way to fix this?
