Static DHCP breaks network access

I have a Ubuntu 14.04 guest on a Windows 7 host.
If I turn use DHCP on the guest, but don't assign a static address through my router. Network access (local, and outside) is perfectly fine.
If I manually set a static IP through network settings, network access (local, and outside) is perfectly fine.
However, if I set my router to give the guest a static IP, network access from the guest is broken to local and outside. I receive the proper IP address from the router. ifconfig shows that there are no dropped packets, no errors, nothing. Nothing funky looking from nm-tool. If I go to the host machine, or any other machine on the network, I can see the guest. I can access the apache, and mysql server from any other machine on the network. From outside the guest, everything seems fine. Only on the guest is there an issue.
I set the router to give the same IP as setting a static IP in the network manager. There is no other device on the network that is being given the same address.
Obviously, I can get by manually setting the IP, but I would prefer that I did not have to leave like that.
Any ideas?

Attach as zip the VM log file when the problem occurs (only one log please) as well as the guest settings following the
Minimum information needed for assistance instructions.
Also, post the output of the following commands in the guest :
Code: Select all
sudo ifconfig -a
sudo ip addr
nslookup 8.8.8.8
ping 8.8.8.8

Bridging on Wireless is made via a hack, as it is not a normal operating mode and it is not guaranteed to work. Try with wired and see if it works.
