creating windows xp 32 bit

I have windows xp32 bit cd.i wanna install it on virtual box,so I create 323 ram and 2,93 GB hdd space to do so
after that, I insert my windows installation cd and started the virtual box ,that profile, but receive system halted message
whats wrong?how to install the operating system?
