Running VM in read-only mode?

Hi.

I'm using VBoxManage.exe to start a VM, do a few things, and then close it down. Currently it runs in normal GUI mode. Is there any way to show the GUI, but disable it? So nobody can click anything (for example, the Start Menu etc)?

My host and guest are both Windows 7 x64.

Thanks.

If you want to lock down the guest OS, then you need to ask their support about it. If you want to lock down the Virtualbox GUI itself, then there are ways but none will be effective if the user has administrator rights.

thanks for the link - I'll check it out. I was hoping there'd be a way to achieve the 'paused' look with the darkened/masked interface....(see attached)
