I am using Ubuntu 14.04 OS as host and running Kali Linux virtually. When I try to install the Guest Additions, error occurs and upon tail the error log the following message is displayed
Creating udev rule for the Guest Additions kernel module. /tmp/vbox.0/Makefile.include.header:97: * Error: unable to find the sources of your current Linux kernel. Specify KERN_DIR=<directory> and run Make again. Stop.
Ubuntu Kernel Release
3.13.0-30-generic

Kali Linux Kernel Release
3.14-kali1-686-pae

Is it because of kernel release conflict?

There is no conflict between your guest and your host. That the whole idea of virtual machines ;). Your problem is within your guest. You do not have your kernel headers installed in your guest.

Moved to "Linux Guests" since the OP's Linux Host was not relevant to the question asked.
