Hi. I have a VMWare .vmdk, .ovf and .mf. Do I need to do anything to allow me to get the machine running on virtual box?
Also the reason why I have the file is I boned up my server so I'm trying to use the debugger. When I use virtual box --startvm <VM> --dbg I don't get the debug option on machine start. I created the machine using just the .vmdk file.

What is it that you exactly are trying to debug? Because from the little that I've read about the debugger, it may not mean what you think it means.

The VMDK that's embedded in an appliance is usually stream oriented, i.e. compressed, hence not suitable for direct use in a VM. VirtualBox will accept it - and treat it as an immutable drive - but this will have performance and disk space costs.

If you have an OVF appliance then use File|Import to add it to VirtualBox.
