[SOLVED] How can I access a USB drive or SD card?

I've tried enabling the EHCI Controller via the VB manager. I just this error at start up of the VM:
Code: Select all
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Lubuntu
14.04.
Implementation of the USB 2.0 controller not found!
Because the USB 2.0 controller state is part of the saved
VM state, the VM cannot be started. To fix this problem,
either install the
'Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack' or disable
USB 2.0 support in the VM settings (VERR_NOT_FOUND).
Also there isn't an extention pack for VB ver. 4.3.

I could access my SD card by going to
Devices > USB Devices. Now I can't, It seems my device needs to be ejected, but I don't know how? I get the following error:
Code: Select all
Failed to attach the USB device Generic USB2.0-CRW [1137] to the virtual machine Lubuntu 14.04.

Result Code: E_INVALIDARG (0x80070057)

Callee: IConsole {8ab7c520-2442-4b66-8d74-4ff1e195d2b6}
There must be a way to eject my device, at least via terminal.

All solutions to the error message Involve EHCI Controller. I was getting ready to learn how to eject the device via VBoxManage, the command-line interface to VirtualBox. when I got an error:

Add VirtualBox to your environment variable or you must be in the directory that actually has VBoxManage.exe for it to work.

--usb enables USB1 support
--usbehci enables USB2 support.
It's generally a good idea to enable both.

This is their example usage:
Code: Select all

If I type VBoxManage then I get a list of several options.

Command syntax is described in the user manual. If you are intimidated by the command line then use the GUI, USB section.

Can you tell me about how long does it take for for Virtualbox to make a compatible expansion pack? Does the expansion pack for v 4.2.24 work with v 4.3.12?

I changed the VM name to Lubuntu, because It seems to not handle numbers so well, and I ran:
Code: Select all
VBoxManage modifyvm Lubuntu --usb on
VBoxManage modifyvm Lubuntu --usbehci on
I then checked with:
Code: Select all
VBoxManage showvminfo Lubuntu --details
and Settings > USB, yet I still got the error in my first post.
