HELP! Have done everything. Can't see taskbar on Ubuntu

Today I installed Ubuntu 32-bit on Virtualbox. Ubuntu 14.04 the most updated version. And when I boot it up I can't see the task bar. I don't have guest additions installed. I have the update installed. I have tried everything I have found on the internet. It seems like the problem I am running into on the root terminal is when I go to mount it doesnt let me. It says its read only or not allowed. Even though I hit the network button and enabled file tampering or whatever. The taskbar still won't show up. I have tried enabling 3D acceleration too.
