Timer Interrrupt BSOD (again)

I am having issues with installing/running Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit) with 4.3.10 and 4.3.12. It has now also started on 4.3.8. My guest OS (Win7 32 bit AND Win7 64 bit) crashes with Timer Interrupt not delivered BSOD. Searching the forums turns this up as an old bug from the 3.x days, but nothing with current versions. Has anyone else seen this and , more importantly, found a work-around/fix?
My host is Win7, 64 bit on a Core i7 processor.

Host is Core i7, 16 GB memory running Win7 64-bit with latest service packs and updates. My host is not exhibiting any problems with any other native applications.
I have the issue with both 32 bit Win7 and 64 bit Win7 clients with the VBox version-specific extensions installed. Only one display is configured. I haven't tried running a Linux guest in the VM in a while. I have configured the client with anywhere from 2 to 4 virtual processors.
The OS in the client was installed directly from MSDN ISO images. I did notice that Win7 SP1 seemed to crash more often than pre-SP1 installations, but I have no hard data to support this. The Win7 SP1 installation wouldn't even complete installation without crashing.
The problem started with 4.3.10 and 4.3.12. I rolled back to 4.3.8 and now it is having the same issue.
More information coming...

OK, so now that I want it to crash in order to obtain a log, it will no longer crash. The only thing I did was to run a thorough scan with MS Security Essentials (and cleaned some issues found) on the host and the problem has magically stopped happening. I will update again with a log file should the problem return.
