Can't load virtual os (Win7)!

Post by virtualtoreal »

Hello, i am using VirtualBox for past few months , it didn't show any problems, until when i had to format my PC and install Winxp from scratch, and so i had to backup my Virual OS (Win7) in my Ext HDD.It wasn't difficult , it required some space for the Virtual Os, and copy/paste to the Ext HDD.
But i remember i didn't do a normal shut down of the virtual pc, i had saved it directly and when i opened it started from the last moment i had closed it.

Now i have installed VirtualBox 4.3.12 r93733, and i just copied the saved Virtual OS to its default directory.
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\VirtualBox VMs
So as i start the Virtual os it shows some error, like this below.
Result Code:
E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component:
Console
Interface:
IConsole {8ab7c520-2442-4b66-8d74-4ff1e195d2b6}

I would not have even attempted to do that with a vm in a saved state.

In you situation I would delete the existing vm. I would then copy just the .vdi file to your hard drive from your backup, then create a new vm using the existing .vdi file.
