Win XP VM shut down immediately

Hi,
I do have a Windows XP VM, which is used once or twice a month.
Today, I will not finish booting.
The MS Windows screen appears - and as it disapears, the screen went black an "shuting down" is shown in the title of the VM-window.
I tried to duplicate the VM - but the clone acts exacly as the original.
I created a new VM, attaching the vdisk to it. Same problem.
Here's the log:
Thanks
Dirk

Please provide logs as compressed attachments, not pasted text. I have done it for you this time.
As to your problem, I see no indication of a VBox problem in the log, in fact it gets far enough into the boot for the GAs to load and report their version (which incidentally is 4.3.4 and perhaps could do with an update). This means that it's possibly a problem with XP.
Perhaps you should
make a backup and then :-
- Attempt to boot in safe mode. If that works then perhaps try updating the GAs.
- If that fails, repair the installation using the XP setup CD.

So updating the GAs (what's that) is only working, if Windows is up and running?
I allready tried booting in safe mode - but this was not working...
Thanks

Of course. You can't install software on any PC if that PC isn't running. You can find a description of the GAs in the user manual.

Then you should try the repair installation option I mentioned.
