Can't start vhd-based VM after taking a snapshot

Hi, I've got a Windows 7 guest VM that runs on a Windows 7 host, but once I take a snapshot, then I can no longer start up the VM.

Trying to start the VM gives:

VirtualBox -Error
Failed to open a session fro the virtual machine W7.
No error info.

The W7 VM uses a vhd file that was created with disk2vhd and attached as an IDE drive. I'm using VirtualBox 4.3.12 r93733.

Is it possible to use snapshots with Virtualbox VM's that use vhd disk images? I'd really like to be able to use the snapshot functionality ...
