I have Vbox running on a Windows 7 workstation and I installed RHEL 7.0 workstation, got it registered and ran yum update. Then I tried the vbox extension pack and ran into the following error;
make KBUILD_VERBOSE=1 CONFIG_MODULE_SIG= -C /lib/modules/3.10.0-123.el7.x86_64/build SUBDIRS=/
tmp/vbox.0 SRCROOT=/tmp/vbox.0 modules
test -e include/generated/autoconf.h -a -e include/config/auto.conf || ( \
echo >&2; \
echo >&2 " ERROR: Kernel configuration is invalid."; \
echo >&2 " include/generated/autoconf.h or include/config/auto.conf are missing.";\
echo >&2 " Run 'make oldconfig && make prepare' on kernel src to fix it."; \
echo >&2 ; \
/bin/false)
Which leads me to believe RHEL 7.0 is not yet supported in the extension pack.
Thank you.

Moved to "Linux guests", since no sensible person would think to look for this discussion in "Windows Hosts".

Maybe I haven't slept enough but it looks like you are saying you can't get the extension pack to install in your RHEL guest? The extension pack is installed in the host.Kilted wrote:I have Vbox running on a Windows 7 workstation and I installed RHEL 7.0 workstation, got it registered and ran yum update. Re: Does Virtual Box support RHEL 7.0 client?
Maybe I can help clear a few things up.
Extension Pack is installed on the host and adds vrde, USB2 support, Etc.
Guest additions are installed in the guest and add the drivers for shared folders, auto-resize of guest screen, Etc.
Now to answer the original question, no the guest additions do not support RHEL 7 yet.
Also the code snippet you provided is useless. It is part of the running code and not a warning or error, which is provided in the complete vboxadd-install.log
If you need to post that again post the complete file ( as an attachment )
