I am trying to install an old game I have on a disk from years ago. It was not compatible with my Windows 8 so I got Virtualbox and put Windows XP on it. Now I am trying to open up the disk in the VirtualBox Windows XP window, but it doesn't seem to be acknowledging that there is a disk inserted in the computer. Outside Virtualbox (in my normal Windows 8 ) my computer acknowledges it just fine, but the Windows XP inside the Virtualbox is the one having the problem.
What should I do?

I'm kinda new to all this, so forgive me if I sound like an imbecile.

Make sure that, in the VM configuration, the virtual CD/DVD drive is set to use your Host drive. By default, it is not.
