OSX 10.9.3 Guest not booting with more than 3.5gb of Ram

Hey everyone - I have an OSX 10.9.3 host with 10.9.3 guest that I am attempting to run with 6gb or ram. The guest will not boot with more than 3.5gb - it will just display a black screen that Virtual Box continually resizes. I have 16gb of ram installed on the host machine with an i5 processor. Let me know if you have any suggestions or information!

which model of Mac and can you post the vbox.log (compressed) for the OSX guest?
edit: btw, which version of VirtualBox are you running? if you are running 4.3.12 you need to make sure that the guest template is set to Mac OS X (64 bit)

loukingjr - I've attached the recent vbox logs - lmk if you'd like to see the entire series of the logs. The Mac is a new mini i5 and its running 4.3.12 with the template set.

I've got it running finally with 6gb of ram - I made two settings changes: 1) changed System - Chipset from ICH9 to PIIX3 ( OSX template default is ICH9 it seems) 2) recreated the VM with a thick provisioned 20gb HDD - not sure if this made a ton of difference, but it was part of my final config on the working OSX 10.9.3 VM

mine works with either chipset. I wish audio worked.
