Upgrading a Guest VM - XP to Win7

Question:
How can I upgrade my Windows XP guest OS to Windows 7 without a disk drive?

Background:
I have a MacbookPro without an optical drive.
I have a valide XP key and a valid retail Windows 7 Home Premium UPGRADE key.
I installed a Win7 guest from ISO but it will not activate because it was a native install and not an upgrade from XP.
I have installed the XP guest with the system allownaces for Win7 (512MB ram and 25 GB hard drive allocations). I am wondering if there is a way that I can upgrade this XP VM to Windows 7 using an ISO file?
Are there upgrade ISO files out there?

In searching, all I found was people recommending a laucher file to install Win 7 without a product key or upgrading from a disc.

Any details i missed?

the only way to have a valid XP key is if you purchased XP. the only way to get a valid retail Windows 7 Home Premium UPGRADE key is to have upgraded a legit XP install by purchasing an upgrade from Microsoft and have already upgraded XP to Windows 7.

so of course since you have all that you can just log into your Microsoft account and re-upgrade your XP install. Easy.
