Has anyone had any trouble with df? I use it all the time to check file system status, but recently it has stopped working. It doesn't throw any errors, it just sits there and produces no output. I end up having to close my terminal because I can't regain control of the shell with CTRL-C or CTRL-D.
I think I figured it out. I have a samba mount and suspect is was causing a delayed response. "df -hl" limits the command to local file systems and responds immediately.
df stopped working
