HP Printer on Windows Guest, Mac Host

Hello,

I got a problem with my HP Deskjet 1022 Printer. I try to use it with my Windows 7 guest under a Mac host, but it doesn't work properly. I installed guest additions and made a filter for the printer. It appears in Windows with its correct name but Windows doesn't recognize it as printer but as unknown object. Also windows fails by automatic installing the printer-drivers. I downloaded the HP drivers but these doesn't recognize the printer at all but say "please plug in the printer". I don't want to use the printer via network but with hardware access from the guest, because Mac doesn't "like" the printer
I'm using VB 4.3.10 on a Mac OS 10.9 host and Windows 7 64-bit (also tried with Windows 8 but same problem). The guest can use 4/8 GB RAM, 4/8 CPU cores and 256/512MB graphicmemory.

Thanks for helping me,
DI

It's possible that the printer appears as a composite device on the USB network, in which case you may need to provide more than one USB device filter.

It must be said however that virtual machines are frankly pretty crap when it comes to controlling physical hardware. They tend to have latencies that device drivers just don't expect. If it's at all possible to get this working as a printer share, then that's what I'd do.
