Win8.1Pro64 HOST/Kubuntu14.04_64 GUEST-Mount Share?
Hi,
I am trying to access a VirtualBox shared folder called "Linux-Share" on Linux guest.
Host is Microsoft Window 8.1 Professional 64Bit and guest is Kubuntu 14.04 64 Bit.
I can find the VirtualBox share folder in Linux guest just fine,
but when I try to open it I receive the following error message:
_____________________________________________________________________________
"Could not enter folder media/sf_Linux-Share"
_____________________________________________________________________________
I would like to fix the above problem but I don't know how.
Any help would be appreciated!
P.S. Linux guest Guest Additions are installed
Thank you...
Jesse

Thanks for the link.
For people who have this issue you need to do the following:
1. Install "Muon Package Manager" using "Muon Discover"
2. Open "Muon Package Manager"
3. Search for "Kuser" and install using "Muon Package Manager"
4. Open "Kuser"
5. Find your user name in list
6. Double-click on your user name
7. Click on [Groups] tab
8. Check on "vboxsf" group
9. Reboot
Share folder should be working now!

or you could open the terminal and type...
or in Ubuntu based distros this also works...
Code: Select all
sudo usermod -aG vboxsf <username>Code: Select all
sudo adduser <username> vboxsfOSX, Linux and Windows Hosts & Guests
There are three groups of people. Those that can count and those that can't.

Yup, that would work too and you don't have to install anything.
