Hey everybody,

I am using Mac OS Mavericks and installed Virtualbox on it.

Under Virtualbox, I have virtualized windows xp. I updated it to windows 8 thanks to the update I bought from microsoft.

When I try to get the latest updates to upgrade my virtual OS to windows 8.1, my virtualized windows 8 crashes. It then says that my system has been damaged and that it cannot be recovered.

If any of you guys have experienced this, I would really appreciate if you could share your experience and solutions here.

without a backup of the guest created by Time Machine or some other backup there is nothing you can do other than starting over.
