Hey there, first post!
So I have gotten as far as getting to the Windows 98 setup, took me long enough to get there, but I get this, plus one other error, which I didn't take a screenshot of unfortunately.

Any suggestions to fix this?
I tried following one thread I read, and it said to disable the AT-X/something... But the acceleration tab is greyed out..
Help would be great!!
Thank you

VirtualBox is not optimised for Windows 98, but it works well once you can get it going. This often means you have to try out various possibilities and find out what works best on your system.
On my principal machine Windows 98 installs best with:
+ Installation from an ISO image rather than a physical CD
+ VT-x enabled (*)
+ No more than 64Mb RAM (some systems like less than this)
+ I/O APIC enabled
+ PAE/NX enabled
(*) If your CPU supports VT-x but it is greyed out for VirtualBox, check than nothing else (such as Hyper-V) is using it, and that it is enabled in the host BIOS.

Neither of these will have any impact on Windows 98. It won't harm, it just won't do any good.
However, keeping the memory (and possibly disk) size low is a very good idea.

My CPU probably doesn't support VT-X, it is running Windows Professional 32-bit.
Alright, I will give it another shot with lower memory, thanks!
How do you suggest I make an ISO to boot from, and what program? I copied the files off the CD, and downloaded Magic ISO, but I couldn't get a bootable disk from it..

You cannot make a bootable CD (or ISO image) from the files.
Magic ISO should work, though I have not tried it. ImgBurn is another popular program that will do it. But you will have to make an image of the whole CD, not just the files on it.

Well this is something I haven't learned!
Like I said, I have copied all the files off the CD to my desktop, and put them in a folder. Are you saying I can't make those files bootable? If not, how do I make in ISO of the CD itself so I can boot a virtual machine from it?
Thank you guys!

Well, technically you can. Obviously Microsoft have done it to create the Windows CD. But it is awkward and I wouldn't attempt it. You need more than just the files to make it work.
According to the on-line documentation for Magic ISO, if you go to the Tools menu, the item at the top of the list should be "Make ISO from CDROM". Try it out.

That's true, I did see that, I will give it another go!
I'll post the results.
Thanks a ton.
