Launching appliances without adding them to the Manager

Hello all!

Im trying to do something and after searching hard I just cannot find how to go about this.

I would like to run a virtualbox appliance without adding it to the manager.

I have a folder for the appliance, with the .vbox file and a .vdi and Im looking for, possibly a command + arguments to run the appliance without adding it to the manager.

The final aim is to have that 1 folder on a removable drive (pen drive, usb drive, etc) and run it on one computer. Then power it off and carry it to another another computer to run it there *without* having to remove it from the manager appliances list and from the media manager and then re-add it on the other computer.

Is this possible?

Thank you!

It is not possible. The manager is only a view into the core of Virtualbox, which must know about the VM it's about to run.
I can only suggest to write a script that adds the VM just before starting it, then unregistrer it and clean up any disks left in the media manager after the process finishes.

Are you trying to hide something? Or run something without the computer owner knowing? Even in PortableVirtualBox you need administrator rights to get it working the first time. So, as noteirak pointed out, the answer is no, but if you don't mind, could you share with us what are you trying to accomplish? And why?
