Mac host Windows vista guest. USB prob can't find help

I have looked at dozens of problems that involve USB connectivity issues but to no avail. The problem is that I am trying to connect my android galaxy s4 to my windows vista guest addition but my mac host does not recognize my galaxy s4 phone. Is there a solution? I have guest additions correctly installed and can connect other usb devices fine. Just cannot get my phone to connect to samsung keis on windows vista guest.
