BSOD when connecting USB drive with guest OS open

Hey!
I recently started using VirtualBox and I'm encountering a rather off-putting issue. I've searched the forum and found similar topics of people having issues with this, but nothing has worked to my avail. First off, my host PC is running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, and my guest OS is Windows 7 Ult. 64-bit (I can give further specs if required). When the guest OS is booted up at the desktop, I'll connect a USB drive (I've tried 2 different ones) to my computer and instantly get a BSOD. The error points to the driver for my USB hub, but what's curious is that nothing is triggered when my VB OS isn't open. I can plug in various USB devices and everything works just fine on my host PC. It's when the gust OS is running I'll get a BSOD when connecting a USB stick. What should be noted is that the port is USB 3.0, so could that possibly be a problem? I'm not sure if there is a setting somewhere that might help with this issue, so that's why I'm coming to the forums for help. Any input would be beneficial!
If you need me to attach a minidump for examination, I can do that.
