How to create an ISO fie from a Virtual box machine

Hi to all

I need to create a ISO disk from a virtualbox machine I use at work

The problem is really stupid.
I have some data on the virtual machine, that I use almost every day.
And this is ok.

Now I'm working at a location where we haven't admin right and we can't install anything so I can't access my data... that just the technical analysis of the job. sob

The only way i see is to have an ISO disk from the virtual machine and then mount it on the pc at work.
But I haven't find how to create an iso disk

Can someone help me?

Thanks

If access to your data is what you want, how about "sticking" them in a USB? It would be much more intuitive.

As for creating an ISO from a VB guest, even if there was a way (which AFAIK, you can't turn a "machine" in a read-only CD) how were you planning on using it at work? Booting from it? Or accessing the data within it?

Are you wanting to run your guest at work, and use the iso to get around not being able to install Virtualbox at work? As far as I know, iso's are read-only, and Virtualbox needs to be installed anyway. Even the "portable" Virtualbox some folks are working on needs to install temporarily, if I understand right.
You'll need to get the admins to let you install. or you can remote into your other computer from work and access your data that way.

Yes, I need to access data.
I have nothing to read a VDI and the ISO format is the first idea I think

I don't need to start the machine (I can't install virtualbox ^__^)

If I put the vdi in a usb how I can access data?

There's no easy way to get data out of a vdi without having Virtualbox installed.
You could copy your data at home to a usb stick (use Virtualbox Shared Folders to allow your guest to access the usb stick on the host without having to set up a usb filter in the guest) then bring just the data to work.
If you need dynamic access, you'll need to leave the guest running at home and remote in.

Damn it scottgus1, I had to delete 75% of my answer, you beat me to the finish line ;)

To add to what scottguss1 said, another option is to think of your guest as a different computer. How would you transfer files between two different computers? A USB stick is the easiest way, a network transfer could be easy as well, e-mailing the data would work too.

I would also suggest any of the cloud services available as well. Connect it to the VM and to the other OS you want to move data to.

sigh

Thanks to all

I can't use cloud services and I can't access external computers.
Yes, I know, we are on 2014... my customer is in '90s ^__^

So my best way is to copy all my data on a usb.
