Quicken 2013 "Not Responding" after Virtualbox upgrade
Posted: 16. May 2014, 23:38
Hello,
I have a Dell XPS630i with 8GB RAM, QuadCore (4 CPU) and recently upgraded my OS from Ubuntu 13.10 to Ubuntu 14.04 (64bit). In doing that upgrade, Virtualbox was upgraded from 4.2.16 to 4.3.10. I installed the Virtualbox Extension and Guest Additions, then started my 32bit Win7 instance on Virtualbox 4.3. My Win7 guest was set up with 2 CPU, 2816MB RAM. Now I can no longer use Quicken 2013. Quicken will open and prompt for the password. After this is entered, it should prompt for the password vault password, then ask if I want to update accounts. It isn't even able to prompt for the password vault password, before the application goes into a permanent "Not Responding" status. CPU shoots up to 70-100%, settling around 85% and the application show "Not Responding", then flicks between the main screen page and update accounts page.
I am at a loss how to resolve this issue, so any help that could be provided would be really appreciated. As a Plan B, I wouldn't mind reinstalling Virtualbox 4.2, to see if the issue is from the Ubuntu OS upgrade or Virtualbox upgrade, but am not sure how to do this. If all else fails, I will have to revert back to a dual boot system, but this is not at all appealing, so hope that someone can help me resolve this issue.
Please let me know any information you need to help troubleshoot. Thanks in advance!
