With Microsoft discontinuing support of Windows XP, can you still create an XP Virtual box after June 2014?

Thank you

Of course you can. You simply won't get any support for Microsoft anymore for any issue within Windows.

I point out that you can still create VirtualBox VMs for DOS, Win3.x, Win95, Win98, WinME, NTx, Win2k, etc. All long ago EOLed by MS. Not all are supported by GAs, but several are.

And as for lack of support from MS, I'm not even sure what that means. I've never had MS on the phone, I very much doubt that forum answers will stop, and as for security fixes for theoretical attacks, I can probably live without those too. Of course it's likely that any OS bugs that went unnoticed for 12 years will never now be fixed, and if you want a modern browser you'll have to use Firefox etc.

Maybe in the business environment (IT departments) the lack of official guidance from MS will be more of a problem. I doubt most of those are using VBox.

Wondering if MS will keep the activation and update links workable as now.

I would say that it's an obvious political and economic necessity for them to keep the activation server working for some considerable time yet, otherwise the market acceptability of activation will itself be called into question.
