And it would be nice too if you replaced the image you posted with a portable standard format, e.g. PNG or JPG. Firefox doesn't handle tiffs, and I can't be bothered to find out what can.

You are running Windows 7 64bit. What the error is telling you is you need a 64bit version of the software.

Unless the app itself does additional checks for some reason, then it is normally perfectly ok to install and run Win32 apps on 64bit Windows hosts. Obviously the reverse is not true.

A 64bit compatible VBox template was selected, but I'm not sure that proves that a 64bit guest OS was installed. Nor am I sure how to go about proving this from the log file. IMHO the OP needs to confirm this.

I am sorry for what seems a silly question....but what does "OP" mean? Original publisher?

Cheers

Close. OP means original poster. the person who started a thread. in this case, you.

Thanks!

Yes it is a 64 bit installation.

I'm afraid I need more than an assertion. How did you go about proving this?

IMHO, the error you report is what one might expect when you try to install 64bit software on a 32bit platform.

Thanks for all the help here!!

But the people that wrote the software have come up with a solution - which I am sure was part supplied by inputs from you guys. Which I have been giving to them.....

Cheers and have a great weekend
