I'm unable to use a shared folder as the root folder for the apache web server.

Quick Info:

Host:
Macbook Pro: OS X 10.9.2 (13C64)
VBox: Version 4.1.16 r78094

Guest:
Ubuntu: 12.04.4 LTS (GNU/Linux 3.11.0-15-generic x86_64)

I can access phpmyadmin and the root directory apache is apparently pointing to (which I assume is the default) but, I have been unable to use the created shared folder as the root in apache.

I'm stuck and im about ready give up, please help.

Found this gem when I tried to re-run VBoxLinuxAdditions.run --nox11

Now looking into the headers...

And now its working. Not exactly sure why, but it has to do with running an older version of VBox on Mavericks (do not try).

Yes, I'm afraid time travel wasn't yet invented when VirtualBox 4.1.16 came out (May 2012), so they were unable at that time to make it compatible with Mavericks (Oct 2013).
