VirtualBox crashed during Windows XP (32 bit) installation.

Post by Deepak Sah »

Hi,

I am trying to install XP on VM 4.3.10. I have not got any success so far. VM crashed immediately after I click 'OK' for format Partition screen (Pls refer screenie)

Workarounds I tried.
1. I crated instances of VM with different memory size viz. 256, 512, 1024, 2048. All leads to same error.
2. I tried 2 different setup CD's for XP just to eliminate if the ISO ain't corrupted. Same error.

Appreciate you prompt help.

Cheers,
Deepak

00:00:07.213333 Host RAM: 1976MB total, 684MB available
00:00:07.418083 RamSize <integer> = 0x0000000040000000 (1 073 741 824, 1 024 MB)

Your issue is ram memory over commitment.
