(Solved) Ubuntu host, SL6 guest, resolution issues

Hello
I have Scientific Linux 6.5 running as guest on a Ubuntu 12.04. I am using VirtualBox 4.1.12_Ubuntu r77245
The maximum resolution I can get is 1024x768. I have installed guest additions, and it was mostly successfull. Output is here:
After installing, Seamless mode and Auto-resize Guest display remain greyed out, but Shared folders work.
Googling the problem has not yeilded a solution, just many pages telling me to install guest additions, which I have done.
Can you help me out? Let me know if there's any information I can send
Thanks!
