I am rebuilding my old PC XP machine (Fujitsu Scaleo L ) that came with Swiss Version (Italian / French / German) of XP. I have already upgraded it to 2 GB RAM. I have installed UBUNTU 10.04 , cant upgrade to 12.04 as the old monitor will not be able to support it. I would like to install Virtual machine with Windows 7 on it. The idea is basically to use it as a test webserver with very minimum investment for a experimental project. Does anyone have a iso image that i can easily use to install windows 7 on the virtual machine in exchange with further collaboration with projects in areas of Mobile payments / Mobile Banking / data warehousing ?

It would clearly be a violation of Microsoft's licenses for someone to give you a free copy of Windows 7, for you to use a free copy, and most certainly to use it in a commercial endeavor.

Microsoft is in business to make money, particularly from their Operating Systems, so the only free versions of Windows you will find are time limited demos available for download from the MS website.

Even if you found a Win7 ISO you would also need a CD key, and you would have to activate it.

Could you please send me the link to the limited time demo. Offcourse if my experiment succeeds , I would invest money to scale up the hardware and buy a proper version of windows 7. But definitely dont want to put any money before that. I have spent 10USD for RAM upgrade and thats max I can spend on a 1.2 GHZ Celreon Processor based machine. Hope my message reaches Microsoft too.

you can do an online search for free trials of Windows 7. based on your posts so far it doesn't seem like your machine can run Ubuntu and Windows 7 as a guest in VirtualBox at the same time.

A 1.2GHz Celeron? I assume it also has very limited RAM and disk space. I wouldn't want to install Win7 at all on such a machine, and I suspect there is almost zero chance that Win7 in a VM is practical.

2GBs not 2MBs typos plague me.
