Shared clipboard not working again with Ubuntu 14.04 guest

Hi,

After upgrading to Ubuntu 14.04 copying from the Linux guest to the Windows 7 host stopped working.
I am using VirtualBox 4.3.10 with the corresponding guest additions.
I have set the clipboard to bidirectional but also tested other settings like guest to host.
I reinstalled the guest additions and restarted the guest many times it didn't help.
It seems like the shared clipboard is broken again.
Why is it so difficult to get this working?

As it turned out, the problem was caused by a broken Parcellite upgrade and problems with other clipboard managers in Ubuntu 14.04 which refused to work.
After repairing Parecllite by deleting .config/parcellite/ according to http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2218199 copy and paste worked again in Ubuntu and hence with VirtualBox.
