I am on a MAC 10.9.2 host OS and am in Windows 7 inside of VB. I have just upgraded to a new laptop and was using VB previously on my old Mac. In my last set up when I would use the 'Host+c' or 'Host+v' shortcuts it would copy and paste inside of the VirtualBox OS just like it does on my Mac. Ever since I have installed this latest version of VB on my new laptop, using the Host+C shortcuts puts me in to scaled mode. Is there any way of telling VirtualBox that I don't ever want to use scaled mode (makes it look all squished anyway) and to just use the same functionality as the host OS for those shortcuts?

Unless you had installed something in your old laptop to re-map the keys, or your 'Host' key was the 'Ctrl' key, that would not have worked. If you don't want to have your Host-C' combination not to put you to scaled mode, you can unset the shortcut in the VB Input preferences.
But, the '⌘' (Cmd) key is used in combination with -c and -v for copy-paste. That will not work in a Windows guest for copy-paste, unless you use a key re-map software, either on your host (per application) or your guest.

Hmm, thats strange. I know I used to have that functionality. The only real difference I can see is that previously my VM was Win XP and now its Win 7. It seems kind of stupid that on a Mac I wouldn't have the option of using the native copy and paste shortcuts inside of VM's. I tend to move in and out of them frequently as my work provides me with a Mac laptop and certain tools that only run on Windows. I know it may not seem like a big deal but having to constantly change (in your head) what shortcuts to use for copy paste gets really irritating after a while. I guess if I can't get this ill use VMware. It seems to be a little bloated compared to VB but I know I can use the host keys for copy/paste there.

I don't have VMWare, but a quick search shows that they have a preference called "Enable Mac OS keyboard shortcuts" which does exactly what you describe. There is nothing equivalent to VirtualBox, as far as I know.

You could however install a keymap program in your guest, such as KeyTweak for Windows, which I've used successfully to do what you describe; map the Cmd to Ctrl and vice versa. Haven't searched for a Linux/OtherOS equivalent. I even uninstalled KeyTweak from my Win guests.
