GuestAdditions in VB4.3.10 but not in guest UBUNTU14.04

Post by alphane41 »

Host Linux + Guest Ubuntu 14.04 + VirtualBox 4.3.10 & GuestAdditions extension_pack

I upgraded my VB to 4.3.10 and installed the correct extension pack in VB. Therefore on my two other guests (Windows XP, Ubuntu 12.04) they are installed. But not on my guest Ubuntu 14.04 ! When I try to look at my shared folder it says "no GuestAdditions installed".

Moreover it is an extension pack not an iso (As far as I know there is no iso) so I cannot mount it on live CD to run it again inside Ubuntu 14.04.
Why is it not working ? What can I do ?

If you installed the Ubuntu repo version then you need to download the guest additions iso, if not then click the devices tab at the top of the guest window and select to mount the guest additions and install it from there.

Thanks for replying .

But, as I explained, there is no iso guest additions ! It's an extension pack and you cannot mount it. And therefore not install it ...

Or, if there is an iso for 4.3.10 guestadditions linux (mandriva 2011) : where can I find it ?
