Why USB2 is not working?

Hi!
I installed VirtualBox on a HP240 laptop (Intel Corei3 processor) under Linux Slackware
I created an Ubuntu virtual machine.
USB2 is not working.
I get the message:
"USB2 is currently enabled for this virtual machine. However this requires virtualbox-extension-pack to be installed."
The virtualbox-extension-pack is installed.
So, why is it not working and do I get this message?
Thank you in advance for the help.
JL

I'm just guessing but did you add yourself to the vboxusers group on your host?

Yes, I belong to the vboxusers group:
bash-4.2$ id jayhel
uid=1000(jayhel) gid=100(users) groups=100(users),17(audio),18(video),19(cdrom),83(plugdev),86(netdev),93(scanner),215(vboxusers)
bash-4.2$

the first thing I would try is update VIrtualBox to the current version, along with the matching expansion pack and install the matching guest additions in the guest.

Solved!
I desinstalled the Slackbuild's VirtualBox.
I installed the VirtualBox(dot)org version instead along with the extension pack.
Now the USB2 is working fine.
And I installed the Guest Additon in Win7.
Now I have Win7 working fine, full screen, also.
So everything is solved.
My mistake had been to install my distro's version of VirtualBox instead of the Oracle's original.
Sorry for ringing the bell, how could I have guessed?
Thank you for your help.
