Windows 7 VM CD burning crashes VirtualBox 4.3.10

Post by jknowles »

Hi, I have a Windows 7 64-bit host running Virtualbox 4.3.10 . I'm running a Windows 7 64-bit VM with the cdrom mounted as a SATA device and passthrough enabled. Whenever I try to burn a data CD within the VM using the native Windows cd burner, VirtualBox crashes (Appcrash- VirtualBox.exe, FaultModule - VBoxDD.DLL, Exception Code - c0000005). I've tested this on two different HP models with the same results. The last stable version I was able to successfully burn CDs was 4.2.18. Has anyone else experienced this problem or are there known issues with the native windows cd burning and virtualbox?

Thanks

Yes, I was able to successfully burn CDs using CDBurnerXP and CDRTFE. But, I'd also like to have the native CD burning as an option as well.

Thanks

If this a reproducible problem and you have a scenario for it, feel free to go in the BugTracker and either find an open ticket for this, or create one.
In either case, add your experience, reproducible scenario, and most important of all, a full VM log (from powering on to crash) to it.
