Screen shots & 3d acceleration

Post by Periata »

A while ago, there was a thread about being unable to take screen shots of systems running with 3d acceleration enabled (apparently I can't post the link, even though it's to another thread on this site... but you can get there by changing the thread number on the address above to 34411). I just wanted to query if this problem has now been fixed?

(In thinking about this longer, I realize that this is more likely to be host-system related than guest-system related, despite the original thread being in this forum, so if somebody can move the post to the Windows-host forum, that would be great!)

And, in fact, answering my own question I see from the changelogs that it was fixed in 4.3.8. :)

you can't take a screenshot inside a guest running Unity, Cinnamon or Compiz with 3D enabled. However, selecting Take Screenshot from the VirtualBox menu seems to work.
