Soundproblem

Post by Yogi_01 »

Hi, I am using version VB 4.3.10 together with a WIN 8.1 (latest update) host. My guest system is a WIN 7 Ult. (latest update).
Everything works fine except the sound of ma WIN 7 guets. It is very, very quite.
My VirtualBox is running with the standard audio settings as are Windows DirectSound with IntelHD Audio.
Has anybody an idea how to rise my sound volume of my guest system to the same level as my host system has.

Thanks in advance

A trivial point that is worth checking before you start to look for anything more complicated: The sound levels of programs running within one another may be multiplied. For example, if you are running Media Player inside Windows 7 and the sound level of that is set to (say) 50%, and the sound level of the Windows 7 guest is set to 50%, and the sound level of the Windows 8 host is also 50%, then the sound level of the result will be 50% of 50% of 50%, ie 12.5% - that is pretty quiet.

I wanted to reply because your response was one of the most logical I've seen in the forums. And no doubt is most likely the case. kudos.
