Error parsing the plist file

Error messages:
"Ramdisk contains no partitions....error parsing the plist file.
Could not open default/background.png
Can't find Mach_kernel."

Host system: Linux Mint 13 Maya-Cinnamon Desktop. 1024mb ram, 32 bit.
I created a Windows XP-Pro VM with 192mb ram and got those error messages.

(I have successfully created and installed a Windows XP-Home VM, with 192mb ram, 32 bit, prior to the XP-Pro VM.)

Attached is the log files.
Attempted to attach 2 screen shoots on .png format to help show what I was experiencing, but I got the following error message:
"Screenshot from 2014-04-09 13:50:48.png is an invalid filename." I thought that the 2 acceptable image file formats are .jpg and .png. The file size is 721.9kb.

I hope this is the correct board to post to.
Just want to say that I'm a newbie with Linux OSs and VB and would appreciate any help.

You'll notice the error message said "is an invalid filename" NOT "is an invalid file format". So try changing the filename to something like Screenshot1.png.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I renamed it and it said "The file is too big, maximum allowed size is 128 KiB".
Each (2) file is 721.9kbs. How do I make such a big file shrink down to the required size? Should I zip them or is there another way?
Also, what do you think about the error messages I've received? Why was I able to create the Win XP-Home VM and not the XP-Pro VM?

• VirtualBox 4.1.12 (released Apr 2nd 2012). Time to upgrade?

  This feels and smells like OSX. Are you sure you're not trying to install OSx86 by any chance?

I agree .plists and Mach Kernels are Mac specific.

Yes, I did try to install Mac OS X-Snow Leopard from my wife's disk, all because I wanted to have the ability to "Face Time" with my patients if need be.
As a matter of fact, now that you mention it, I had the same problem on my Windows XP-Pro desktop with the same error messages after having tried to install Mac there as well, unsuccessfully, on both the laptop (Linux Mint) and the desktop, I might add.
So, would un-installing and re-installing VBox fix that? I would think it would, because as I stated in an earlier post, I was able to install Win XP-Home first before attempting the OS X VM.

there is no difference installing Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Home edition. Since you were successful installing the latter...

I guess I perhaps didn't make myself clear.....I did attempt to create an XP-Pro VM like I did with the successful XP-Home VM that I created but got those error messages when attempting the XP-Pro installation. That's what prompted this whole thread.
So, if the .plist and other error problem has to do with the failed attempt of our OS X-Snow Leopard (from our purchased disk I would add), do you think that by un-installing and re-installing VBox, that would fix the problem and allow me to install Win XP-Pro?

First of all, even though you paid for Snow Leopard you still can't install it on non-Apple hardware. Plus you don't have enough memory on your host to run it if your specs are correct. It needs at least 1GB to run which is all your host has and you still need RAM to run Linux Mint and VirtualBox. Linux Mint 13 requires 512MB of RAM and is better with 1024MB.

As far as the error messages there is no way you would have the same error messages trying to install XP Pro and OSX. You could reinstall VirtualBox but I don't think it will help. What format is XP pro, .iso or DVD or?

And as has been kinda pointed out above, the distinction between XP Home and XP Pro is merely a marketing one. The kernel is the same, but a different set of additional apps may be bundled. The installation procedure is identical, as are the requirements.

I really don't like you calling me a lyer. I've been honest about my situation. I'm honestly not trying to get help with OS X. I've long given up on it. When I was trying to install OS X before, I honestly didn't know that you weren't supposed to do that, despite having my own Snow Leopard Disk, which we used to upgrade my wife's Leopard installation on her Mac Book a while ago.

I have a ghosted image of my XP-Pro installation of my desktop that I am now trying to install as a VM in Virtualbox on my Linux Mint 13 laptop. As I stated earlier, I may be new at Linux and VB but I'm not an idiot. I know I should be able to make an XP-Pro VM as I did with my XP-Home DVD but I can't. I keep getting the error messages that I started this post with.

I uninstalled and re-installed VB and I still get the error messages.

Can anyone in this forum help?
