Auto re-size guest display is disabled

I was installing Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit as a guest in my Windows 7 host. Everything went well except the screen resolution. It is showing in a small box and I found that the auto re-size guest display is disabled in the View menu. From the forum I found that Guest Additions is required to correct display and I did follow the steps. After OS installation, I did do the following commands

- sudo get-apt update
- sudo get-apt upgrade
- sudo get-apt install dkml
- Did restart the system.
- then I click the "Insert Guest Addition CD Image..." link from the Devices menu and install the Guest Additions from the CD.
- Did restart again.
