Auto re-size guest display is disabled

Post by Mahesh V S »

I was installing Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit as a guest in my Windows 7 host. Everything went well except the screen resolution. It is showing in a small box and I found that the auto re-size guest display is disabled in the View menu. From the forum I found that Guest Additions is required to correct display and I did follow the steps. After OS installation, I did do the following commands
  • sudo get-apt update
  • sudo get-apt upgrade
  • sudo get-apt install dkml
  • Did restart the system.
  • then I click the "Insert Guest Addition CD Image..." link from the Devices menu and install the Guest Additions from the CD.
  • Did restart again.
Here is the Guest Addition installation log shown in the console:

Code: Select all

Thanks for the help

You need a newer version of VirtualBox to be able to support the still not released guest OS.
